Terry Newsome has been a
qualified physiotherapist for over 30 years,
having practised in Hemel Hempstead since 1981. He
established, at Dacorum Sports Centre, one of the
first sports injury clinics in the region.
Terry has been involved in
sports at the highest international level. During
the 1980's he acted as physiotherapist to the
Great Britain athletics team travelling the world
to the major games. Through this involvement he
treated many top athletes at the Dacorum Sports
Centre practice.
Notwithstanding athletics,
Terry became active in rugby union in the late
80's with Middlesex County RFC London Divisional
rugby through which the principle London-based
England rugby internationals played.
He became physiotherapist to the first England
Under-21's team in 1989 which included Jason
Leonard, Neil Back, Phil De Glanville, Tim Rodber
and other international players who developed
successfully through the ranks.
Terry continued his association with the England
U21 and England Sevens rugby teams culminating in
the Commonwealth Games in 2002 from his
established Hemel clinic now based at Cotterells.
